Barbara Miccoli, born in Pavia, holds a degree in Set Design from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.
She worked as a professional dog groomer and prepared and presented dogs of many breeds, including her two standard Poodles. Later, together with and thanks to her husband Cristiano, she became a breeder of French Bulldogs.
Their kennel name, Escalofrio, is taken from the name of their beloved Poodle (Es Samarcanda Escalofrio Negro), who acted as a “nanny” to the first French Bulldog puppies they bred. She writes, paints, teaches painting courses, and lives surrounded by the company of their French Bulldogs.

Cristiano Laurenti, a true Pavia native, born in 1977, has lived with and for Barbara since 2007.
Before meeting her, he didn’t even know how many legs a dog had. Over time, he first learned to live alongside these wonderful animals and then to love them, discovering that they truly are a reflection of our personalities.
He works as an employee in the food industry and gradually combined this profession with a passion for dog breeding. In 2010, they purchased their first French Bulldog (Ellison del Drago d’Oro, known to them as Godzilla) and, thanks to the support of his breeders, began a short but intense adventure.
The ENCI kennel name, competitions, litters, and, in between, the founding of a small cultural association (Associazione Al Guinzaglio)—of which he proudly served as President in 2015—brought a period of notable national recognition.
He was a French Bulldog breeder, learning a different approach to kennel management compared to working with other breeds.
Since the pandemic, they have chosen to rebuild their lives by stepping away from breeding, while continuing to remain present in and for the world of cynophilia.
